Akhanda Yoga
I have just returned from Rishikesh, India having completed my 500-hour professional yoga teacher training with World Concious Yoga Family. I had the most incredible experience. At times it was overwhelming, intense and very challenging but also one of the most rewarding and enriching experiences of my life. I am very excited and enthusiastic to teach Akhanda Yoga. Akhanda in Sanskrit means indivisible, unbroken tradition, entire and whole. My intention is to offer holistic yoga classes with an emphasis on the balanced sequencing of the chanting of mantra (the vibration of sound, a syllable or group of words that are capable of transforming our emotions, intellect and soul), asana (postures), pranayama (breath control), breathing exercises (synchronized breath with movement), relaxation and meditation as well as readings on the yogic lifestyle and yoga philosophy. This integral approach to yoga classes is intended to give students a deeper understanding of the diverse teachings and techniques that the yoga system has to offer. When practiced and understood holistically yoga becomes even more beneficial and helpful in bringing harmony and balance into our lives, families and to society.
